WHY WALES?
Attached to, but very different from England, Wales conserves the oldest Celtic traditions of Britain in its language, its literature and its songs.
It's a mountainous country skirted on three sides by a rugged coast.
There are many castles, especially along the border with England, where they bear witness to a turbulent past. Four of them (Conwy, Beaumaris, Caernarfon and Harlech) are UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Wales is conveniently compact—no point is more than a few hours' drive from another, although the winding roads can make journeys longer. But this doesn't mean that it should be seen in a rush. Take time to enjoy its wild and beautiful scenery, historic villages and craggy seascapes.

EXCITING DESTINATIONS IN WALES
PEMBROKESHIRE
Pembrokeshire is an area of cliffs, lighthouses, sandy beaches, wildflowers and small resort towns - It includes St. David's and the picturesque town of Tenby, with its magnificent beaches that rival that of the Caribbean One of the highlights is the miniature stone chapel of St. Govan's, set in a cleft beneath a cliff 10 mi/16 km south of Pembroke. There you can see a striking castle by the river where Henry Tudor, later Henry VII, was born.

SNOWDONIA
Snowdonia National Park, the largest and most dramatic of Wales' national parks, includes Mount Snowdon (1,085 m), the highest mountain in Wales or England. The park is ideal for hiking + climbing. Good bases for enjoying the park include the villages of Bettws-y-Coed + Capel Curig—simple and fairly rustic, they are surrounded by wild hill country and are close to the breathtaking Swallow Falls. Be sure to also visit the nearby Harlech Castle,13 A.D,
CARDIFF
Wales' capital city has a special, intimate atmosphere, best discovered by strolling through the old town. The Victorian arcades with their independent shops are particularly charming. In its city centre, Cardiff Castle has over 2,000 years of history. To give visitors an insight into this exciting world, Cardiff Castle has launched a new Tour led by expert guides, taking visitors to areas of the castle not normally open to the public.
ANGLESEY
The Isle of Anglesey is perhaps most known for their Angelsey sea salt - but there's so much more to discover! Try to spend a day driving completely around it, stopping at Beaumaris Castle, the Museum of Childhood Memories (well worth a visit) and the various bays. The castle, built in the 13th century, is striking because of the placement of its staggered gateways, its spectacular seaside site and its cunningly designed defences. Be sure to walk the outer walls.
SWANSEA
The vibrant city of Swansea - boasts a colourful and rich tapestry of exciting activities, cultural events & festivals, perfectly matched with delicious foods and markets. Discover the Swansea Indoor Market, the award-winning largest indoor market in Wales, carrying activities dating back over centuries, steeped in tradition and selling only family run produce.
